Mr. John Boring's Will and Inventory - - - -note this will is lodg'd among the Inventory's lost ???????? - 1710
In the name of God Amen. The second day of May 1690. I John Boring being sick
and weak in body but of Sound and Perfect Memory praised be to
Almighty God for the same and knowing the uncertainly of this
life on earth and being desirous to settle things in order, does
make this my last Will and Testament. In mannerr and form
following (that is to say) First and Princably I commend my Soul
unto the Hands of Almighty God my Creator, assuredly believeing
that I shall receive full pardon and free remission for my sins
and be saved by the precious mettitts of Jesus Christ and my body
to the earth from whence it was taken to be buried in such decent
manner as to my executrix hereafter named shall think fitt. and
as touching such worldly Estate as if hath pleased God to bestow
up on me, the same shall be bestowed as hereafter by this my Will
Expressed and I revoke all Wills heretofore by me made. Item: I
doe give and bequeath unto my three sons John and James and
Thomas Boring all my Land to be equally devided between them.
allsoe it is my will that my sonn John, should have his freedom
at the age of Eighteen years, and then to enjoy his part of the
estate. Allso I give To my loving wife, that which the law
customarily gives. Item: All the rest and residue of my personal
Estate my Will is that it should be equally devided amoung all my
Children begotton of the body of Anne Boring my now present wife.
Alsoe I doe will and desire and leave my loving Wife Executive of
this my last Will and Testament. In Witnesses whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and year abovesaid.
