Be it remembered that I Chana Boren of Washington County and State of Tennessee being of sound mind and memory but considering
the uncertainty of all human life, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following: (viz)
First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Jane Boren the entire profits of the tract of land of which I present reside,
during her widowhood for the purpose of supporting herself, also for the purpose of supporting and educating my youngest daughter
Lauretta P. Boren who is hereby left to her care, Said land to include the tract that I purchased from Jonathan Young, Fifteen Acres
from Fain, also twenty acres to be laid off from the Mill tract joining Ruble, Slagle and the Fain Tract for the purpose of Supplying
firewood & including the whole about one hundred and seventy acres, also I give and bequeath unto my wife aforesaid during her widowhood
the following Negros, One boy named Caleb, one woman named Liddy, and one boy named Peter. Also I give unto her during her widowhood,
one gray poney called Ned, one bed and furniture, one Saddle and bridle, my waggon and "hind gears???" and all my farming utensils,
two of the choice of my waggon horses and four good milk cows, also all my household furniture with the exception of One Secretary,
Six Windsor chairs, one large falling leaf table and one bed and furniture, complete, to be sold by my executors and divided as
hereafter mentioned.
Second I give and bequeath unto my daughter Serena C. Wilds, wife of John A. Wilds, one half of the tract of land on which I formerly
resided in said county of Washington on the head waters of Brush Creek joining the land of Elijah Boren, to be divided off from the
lower end of said tract by the following line. Beginning at a post Oak on the North East line of said survey near the old road,
Thence South thirty three degrees West crossing the branch below the barn, and in a direct line till it strikes the Wood land thence
South sixteen degrees West till it intersects Cassaday's line, which part & cut off the ........................to be two hundred
acres or upwards. I hereby give and bequeath to my daughter Serena C Wilds aforesaid and her heirs forever, also I give and bequeath
to her one Hundred Acres of land to be taked from the upper end of the Douglas Tract by a line running parrallel with the upper line
of said survey. Also, I give and bequeath unto her one negro girl named Milly now in her possession, also the following that she
heretofore received. I hereby confirm unto her (viz) one horse beast, one saddle and bridle, two cows one bed and furniture and
fifty dollars in cash----
Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my daughter Cassandra M. Lyle wife of Samuel Lyle a tract of Land on Sinking Creek in said County
of Washington on which said Lyle formerly resided containing one hundred and nine acres, Also I give and bequeath unto her one hundred
and three acres of the tract commonly called the Mill Tract on said Creek joining the aforesaid, running parrellel with the lower
line of said survey yet & as to include the Mill and Water necessary for said Mill as it now runs, Also I give and bequeath unto
her the following that she has already received (viz) one Negro girl named Harriet, one horse beast saddle and bridle, two cows one
bed and furniture and fifty dollars in Cash.
Fourthly I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sabrina A. Young wife of Thomas L. Young, a tract of land on Sinking Creek in said
County of Washington joining the lands of John Howard and Samuel Wright containing One Hundred Acres more or less, also I give and
bequeath unto her all the right title interest and claim, that I have to a tract of Land on which Benjamin Drain now lives on the
waters of Brush Creek supposed to be Seventy five Acres or thereabouts. Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sabrina A. Young
aforesaid fifteen Acres on the Upper end of the Mill tract before-mentioned, to be cut off by a line running parrelel with the lower
line of said survey. Only the use of the water for the Mill as it now runs is not to be interrupted, Also I give and bequeath unto
her Sixty two Acres to be taken from the Douglas tract joining the hundred Acres formerly bequeathed to Serena C. Wilds to be cut
off by a line running parreller with the upper line of said survey all to her and her heirs forever. Also I give and bequeath unto
her a negro to be valued as near equal to those of her sisters as may be. Also I give and bequeath unto her the following that she
has already received, one horse beast and saddle and bridle, two cows one bed and furniture and fifty dollars in Cash----
Fifthly I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lucinda P. Lyle wife of John Lyle twelve acres of Land on Brush creek in said County of
Washington to be cut off from the lower part of the Douglas tract joining the Sixty two acres heretofore bequeathed to Sabrina A.
Young by a line running parrelel to the upper line of said survey. Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lucinda P. Lyle
aforesaid that part of a tract of Land on the head waters of Brush Creek including the house in which I formerly lived supposed to
be upwards of two Hundred Acres, joining that part formerly bequeathed to Sabrina C. Wilds, also joining the lands of Mordecai Price
and James Cassaday. Also I give and bequeath unto Lucinda P. Lyle one Negroe to be valued equal to those received by her elder
sisters. Also I give and bequeath unto her the following that she has already received, One horse beast saddle and bridle two cows,
one bed and furniture and fifty dollars in Cash----
Sixthly I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lauretta P. Boren after my wife's death or Marriage as the case may be, all that part
of the tract of land on which I now live which was before devised to my wife included in several parcels and supposed to contain
one hundred and seventy acres as aforesaid. Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lauretta O. Boren aforesaid one negroe valued
equal to those of her elder sisters. Also I give and bequeath unto her the choice of My Stock of Mares, one saddle and bridle
two cows two beds and furniture complete and fifty dollars in Cash ----
Seventhly My Will is that , that part of my household property not devised to my wife, and all my remaining effects not hereby
bequeathed be exposed to public sale in due form by my executors and that all the debts due the Estate be collected as soon as may
be, and after paying all my just claims that may be against me, the balance to be disposed of as follows.----Two Hundred dollars
John Dorsey Boren grandson of Nicholas Boren, and the balance to be divided as follows except that my daughter Cassandra M Lyle
is to receive Nine Hundred and eighty dollars less that either of the Legatees in consequence of receiving the Mill on Sinking
creek. One fifth part to Serena C. Wilds, one fifth part to Cassandra M Lyle with the exception of Five Hundred and eighty dollars
above mentioned (MY NOTE - it say $980 above not $580), One fifth part to Sabrina A. Young, One fifth part to Lucinda P Lyle, and
One fifth part to Lauretta P Boren. Also it is my will that my executors should reserve in their hands the sum of three Hundred
dollars for the purpose of defraying the expenses of educating and supporting my youngest daughter Lauretta P Boren, if said
executors should think the same nessary and if not to be divided as before mentioned.
And I hereby appoint John A. Wilds and Abraham Hoss executors of this my last Will and testament hereby revoking
all former Wills by me made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 8th day of April
in the year 1834.

whereas in my original will dated 8th day of April, 1834 I gave and devised to my two daughters Sabrina Young & Lucinda
Lyle two litle Negroes to be equal to two that I gave to my daughter Carroline Wilds & Cassandra Lyle this codicil witnesseth
that I do hereby give & bequeath to my two daughters Sabrina Young & Lucinda Lyle the two boys now in the possession that is to
say the negro Boy named Thomas in the possession of Sabrina Young & the yellow Boy names Charles in the possession of Lucinda Lyle,
and which two Boys I do hereby give & devise to them in the room(?) & Stead of those named in my original Will. And where as in
said will I gave & devised to my two aforesaid daughters property to be equal to that given to my two daughters Carroline Wilds &
Cassandra Lyle which property my daughters Sabrina Young & Lucinda Lyle has received.. And also in said will I gave and devised
to my said daughters Sabrina Young and Lucinda Lyle fifty dollars in money (Wach) which amount I have paid them in the room(?) &
Sted of the fifty dollars gave & devised to them in my original will. And whereas in said will I gave & devised to my wife a
negro man named Peter and believing said boy not to be a Suitable one for her I do hereby give and bequeath to my said Wife a
negro Boy now owned by me named Adam in the Room & Sted of Peter which boy she is to have So long as She remains a widow. and at
the death of my wife the Said boy Adam must have the liberty of choosing him a master.
